Job summary

Market 36 Recruitment is recruiting a General Manager for an established manufacturing business in Witham. You will work closely with the Managing Director to improve operations, develop the team and support growth.

This role suits someone ready to take ownership and progress from an Operations/Production/ supervisory background. The role involves leading ~20 staff, ensuring production has resources, and driving performance while building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing environment experience is essential.
• Experience in an Operations/Production/ Supervisory or Management role.
• Highly driven, energetic and motivated to make a tangible impact.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of business operations.
• Confident communicator who builds stakeholder relationships.
• Highly organised and process-driven.
• Able to identify issues early and take decisive action.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Good health and safety understanding in manufacturing.
• Strong people-management and leadership skills.
• Ambitious to progress as the business grows.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Taking responsibility for day-to-day running of the business with MD.
• Overseeing a team of ~20 employees (manufacturing and office).
• Ensuring materials and resources are available for production.
• Monitoring performance and ensuring standards met.
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and staff management.
• Managing staff administration and day-to-day HR matters.
• Overseeing invoicing and administrative processes.
• Liaising with customers and maintaining client relationships.
• Implementing and improving operational processes.
• Identifying issues before they affect production or customers.
• Recognising opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions.
• Proactive hands-on management of the operation.
• Contributing to business growth and continued success.
