Job summary

Bowmay Consulting is seeking a General Manager for an established garment manufacturing business in Lancashire. The role focuses on taking the next step from Production/Operations leadership, driving performance and growth with a commercially minded, hands-on approach.

You’ll lead day-to-day production, identify efficiencies and shape the next stage of the company’s journey while benefitting from mentoring from the MD and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Textile manufacturing background; garment manufacturing not required.
• Ambitious Production Manager or experienced Operations Manager seeking a bigger challenge.

Bowmay are recruiting for a General Manager to join an established garment manufacturing business in Lancashire with exciting plans for growth.

This isn't simply a role for someone to maintain the status quo. The business is looking for a commercially minded, hands-on leader who will challenge, improve and ultimately help shape the next stage of the company's journey.

What You Get

• A basic salary of £60-70k (neg)

About You

• We're particularly interested in people with a textile manufacturing background, although you don't need to have worked specifically within garment manufacturing.
• You could be an ambitious Production Manager ready for a step up, or an experienced Operations Manager looking for a bigger challenge.
• Most importantly, you'll be a go-getter.
• You'll be commercially aware, naturally curious and someone who doesn't simply accept "that's how we've always done it."
• You'll be comfortable rolling your sleeves up, getting involved and making things happen.

About The Role

You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the production facility, working closely with the team to improve performance, solve problems and identify opportunities for growth.

We're looking for someone who will:

• Lead and develop the operations
• Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement
• Identify problems and find practical solutions
• Challenge existing processes respectfully and constructively
• Genuinely understand the commercial impact of operational decisions in a textile manufacturing business
• Have some experience producing or contributing to monthly P&L reporting
• Work collaboratively across production, people and commercial activity
• Develop the role as the business grows
