Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the finance function within a family-run North London manufacturing firm. The role covers UK and US accounting, VAT, payroll, budgeting and financial controls.

The salary is £40,000-£50,000 with 25 days holiday and on-site parking, Monday–Friday 9am-5pm. This is an opportunity to contribute to system improvements and drive business growth within a reputable, long-established company.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Live within commutable distance to North London.
• Minimum 5 years accounting experience in the UK.
• Proven financial control and accounting skills.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank accounts, including US accounts.
• Maintain UK sales ledger and invoicing.
• Maintain US sales ledger with US agent data and FX for UK reporting.
• Maintain purchase ledger with PO processing and supplier payments.
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
• Process monthly payroll journals and reconcile payroll to accounts.
• Organise annual stock take and year-end valuation.
• Set annual budget and forecasts with monthly variance analysis.
• Assist directors in improving system processes and financial controls.
• Liaise with external accountants for annual accounts with HMRC and Companies House.
