Job summary

NLB Solutions is partnering with a manufacturing business to appoint a Financial Controller in Hemel Hempstead. The role is hands-on, reports to the MD, and is based on-site with a fast-paced environment near the manufacturing site.

The successful candidate will lead month-end close, deliver robust financial reporting, manage budgeting and forecasting, and drive continuous improvements across controls and processes.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent.
• Senior finance leadership experience required; Manufacturing exposure preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP, SOX and statutory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close with journals, accruals, and prepayments.
• Deliver P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
• Prepare management accounts, KPI reporting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure timely reporting to corporate finance teams.
• Lead budgeting and forecast processes annually.
• Provide financial insights to support strategic decisions.
• Develop and enhance reporting tools and financial analysis capabilities.
• Oversee inventory valuation, cost roll, and standard costing.

Our client is looking for someone that comes from a similar background and work closely with hands on and dynamic MD.
