Job summary

Holt Engineering Ltd in Blandford Forum is seeking a Production Engineer to support feasibility reviews and optimize routings and process data within the ERP system. The role requires collaboration with sales, engineering and operations to ensure manufacturability and timely production release.

The successful candidate will read engineering drawings, understand how design decisions affect manufacture, and maintain accurate production data and documentation in line with ISO9001 requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, production engineering or technical engineering support role.
• Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Able to understand how product design, routing, tooling and process data affect manufacture.
• ERP experience would be useful, especially around routings, job cards or production data.
• Strong communication skills with internal teams and customer engineering contacts.
• Organised and able to prioritise work based on business impact.
• Good IT skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook and general system use.
• HNC/HND or higher in an engineering discipline is desirable, but relevant experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide manufacturing feasibility reviews for prototype and production enquiries.
• Work with customer engineering teams to improve designs from a DFM perspective.
• Compile material usage information and update NPI documentation for relevant departments.
• Maintain accurate routings, process times and special instructions within the ERP system.
• Support internal process change notes and controlled documentation updates.
• Identify tooling, test fitting or additional manufacturing requirements before production release.
• Work with Operations to confirm production readiness and resolve missing information.
• Maintain document control and configuration discipline in line with ISO9001 requirements.
• Carry out general system maintenance audits to keep data accurate and usable.
• Support concessions/deviation activity by providing technical data to customer engineering teams.
• Read and interpret customer, engineering and international standards where required.
