Caterpillar Springvale, Belfast, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a 20+ engineering team and drive safety, quality, and operational excellence. You will manage budgets, resources, and strategic initiatives across logistics, assembly, test and paint operations.

The role emphasizes Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement, with global collaboration and long-term business objectives at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading engineering teams in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, process optimization, and quality systems.
• Experience applying Lean Six Sigma and structured problem-solving.
• Ability to manage budgets, resources, and schedules.
• Excellent communication skills across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of 20+ engineers with coaching and performance management.
• Drive safety culture with safe, compliant, and sustainable manufacturing processes.
• Oversee design and optimization of facility processes across logistics, assembly, test and paint.
• Champion quality through defect prevention, RCCA, and First Pass yield improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to allocate resources to priorities.
• Lead line balance and capacity planning through the S&OP cycle.
• Manage engineering budgets and resources; oversee a team budget of ~ $2M and 200+ staff.
• Develop and execute engineering strategies for continuous improvement and growth.
