Job summary

Caterpillar Peterlee is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a team of manufacturing engineers responsible for designing, validating and implementing complex processes for Articulated Truck manufacturing.

The role includes capital equipment procurement, increasing automation, and applying Advanced Manufacturing techniques to improve operations and support New Product Introduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an engineering or technical discipline.
• Experience leading manufacturing engineering teams and implementing processes.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and capital investments.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of Manufacturing Engineers and Engineering Specialists.
• Drive a customer-focused culture emphasizing safety, quality, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Set objectives and development plans aligned with business goals.
• Support production teams in resolving complex manufacturing issues and actions.
• Develop business cases and CAPEX proposals for manufacturing investments.
• Manage capital projects from concept through implementation to meet budget/schedule.
• Collaborate with Product Design to ensure manufacturability and DPI readiness for launches.
• Lead manufacturing readiness activities for new product launches and updates.
