Caterpillar Peterlee is the worldwide source of Cat® Articulated Trucks, currently producing an 8-model range used in many industries including mining, construction and aggregates. The facility's manufacturing activities use the latest computer analysis techniques, robotic technology and automated dump body paint plant. Machines from our site are shipped to customers around the world.
We are looking for an experience leader to lead a team of manufacturing engineers responsible for designing, validating & implementing complex processes for all aspects of Articulated Truck manufacturing.
The role will span capital equipment procurement, increasing automation of new & existing processes & the application of Advanced Manufacturing techniques to improve current operation processes.
In addition to the above, the role will also involve in depth involvement in the development of manufacturing process for future Articulated Truck products as part of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an appropriate engineering or technical discipline or equivalent experience desired.
Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
Capacity Planning & Management – MFG : Knowledge of tools, approaches and practices for determining production demand and ability to manage resources needed to provide satisfactory levels of service.
Manufacturing Equipment: Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and store them.
Robotics/Computer Controlled Machinery: Knowledge of robotics technologies and computer controlled machinery; ability to implement and operate robotics and computer controlled machinery in an automated manufacturing environment.
