Job summary

Thales Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Industrial Process Engineering team in Templecombe. This role focuses on developing, optimising and sustaining manufacturing processes for high-technology products, while supporting continuous improvement across products and processes.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Projects, Procurement and Production teams to ensure safe, cost-effective and efficient manufacturing, with a strong emphasis on data and documentation throughout

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing process development and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation and production data.
• Understanding of Design for Manufacture (DfM) principles.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience supporting production, quality and engineering teams within a complex technical environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Leading Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs) and preparing all associated manufacturing data.
• Assessing Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRLs) to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks.
• Defining, developing and optimising manufacturing processes, tooling and production layouts.
• Creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation, workflows and ERP production data.
• Supporting Design for Manufacture activities across engineering and project teams.
• Acting as the manufacturing representative at Material Review Boards (MRBs) and Configuration Control Boards (CCBs).
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, improve efficiency and enhance product quality.
• Identifying opportunities for capital investment through cost-benefit and ROI analysis.
• Supporting supply chain activities as an Industrial Subject Matter Expert.
• Ensuring manufacturing processes comply with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
