Job summary

Thales is seeking an Industrial Process Engineering Technician for its Templecombe site. The role is four-day weeks, 37 hours, onsite with start times around 6:00–7:30am.

You will support shopfloor production, assist in resolving technical issues and work closely with the IPE team in a manufacturing environment. This entry-level position offers opportunities to develop skills in non-conformance management, problem solving and process improvements while contributing to safer, more efficient

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing environments, time-served or equivalent.
• Familiar with electrical/electronic/electro-mechanical assembly environments.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, routings and BOMs would help.

Responsibilities

• Be a key point of contact on the shopfloor, helping to spot and resolve day-to-day manufacturing issues and non-conformances.
• Organise and coordinate Material Review Boards (MRBs) and manage production failures and changes.
• Identify improvements to manufacturing processes, methods and documentation to improve efficiency and quality.
• Support survey, repair and refurbishment activities for items returned to the work cell.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by finding opportunities to enhance working practices.
• Support Health, Safety and Environmental best practice in daily activities and ensure work is safe.
• Help identify and mitigate manufacturing risks and learn risk assessment practices.
• Learn to use ERP and data management systems for daily tasks and data packs.
• Learn on the job from experienced team members and build problem-solving capabilities.
• Engage with the wider IPE team to grow understanding and contribution.
