Manufacturing Engineer: Lean & Process Improvement

Job summary

AMETEK is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering professional to drive lean initiatives across operations, supply chain and design engineering in Sunbury-on-Thames. You will implement standard work, create routings in the MRP system and lead continuous improvement projects to reduce cycle times and waste.

You will collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure robust manufacturing processes, develop PFMEA and control plans, and support new product introductions while mentoring cell

Qualifications

• Experience implementing Lean in an industrial environment.
• Experience with NPI (new product introductions).
• Proven track record of creating and maintaining process maps, PFMEA's and control plans.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing, automotive, or closely related industries.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with manufacturing cell leaders to improve process efficiencies.
• Implement Standard Work and maintain SOPs, routings and visual factory displays.
• Create and maintain routings in the MRP system.
• Apply lean methods to reduce throughput times, rework and WIP.
• Lead improvement projects and CAPEX for new processes and products.
• Support product documentation changes and parts obsolescence.
• Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support for production cells.
• Develop process FMEA and control plans with teams.
• Manage new product introductions and legacy product manufacture.
• Mentor cell leaders in improved assembly and test methods.
