Our mission
At Vertical Aerospace, we are pioneering the way for electric aviation. The VX4, our eVTOL (electric, vertical, take-off and landing), ‘zero emissions’ aircraft will set a new safety standard for how we will navigate the sky.
We won’t realise our mission following the same legacy processes and traditions our predecessors followed, instead, we want to ‘redefine’ aerospace best practices.
We are growing quickly from a prototype business to a scaling SME, and the next few years will be critical to our success and delivering on our ambitious goals of having the VX4 in service by 2030.
What To Expect
As a Digital Manufacturing Engineer; you will play a key role in shaping our large-scale production plans for the VX4 aircraft. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing digital manufacturing processes to streamline efficiency and innovation.

- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancement, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead the definition of process and work instructions within digital systems, from concept development through production start
- Leverage a strong background in high-volume final assembly and lean manufacturing principles, with relevant expertise in new product introduction (NPI).
- Utilize manufacturing systems to efficiently design processes and support high-rate production, including ERP, MRP, and MES tools.
- Train users and promote the adoption of digital systems as an integral manufacturing planning tool.
- Collaborate with change coordination teams to ensure that Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) modifications are accurately reflected in the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM).
