Job summary

GTS Group Ltd in Gloucestershire seeks a Composites Manufacturing Engineer to join a dynamic aerospace/advanced manufacturing team. You will develop and optimise composite processes, lead improvements, and work across engineering, manufacturing and quality functions.

You will gain exposure to autoclave and lamination operations and play a key role in upscaling production while driving lean initiatives. Experience in aerospace/defence or motorsport is preferred; ERP/MRP experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in composites manufacturing is essential.
• Strong understanding of composite materials and processes required.
• Autoclave and lamination experience highly desirable.
• Background in aerospace, defence, motorsport or advanced engineering advantageous.
• Knowledge of AS9100 or equivalent quality systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve composite manufacturing processes.
• Optimise lay-up, cure and trimming operations.
• Create manufacturing documentation, process instructions and routings.
• Support production, quality and design teams.
• Lead investigations into manufacturing and quality issues.
• Support equipment commissioning and production scale-up.
• Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 and aerospace quality standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Developing and improving composite manufacturing processes
• Optimising lay-up, cure and trimming operations
• Creating manufacturing documentation, process instructions and routings
• Supporting production, quality and design teams
• Leading investigations into manufacturing and quality issues
• Supporting equipment commissioning and production scale-up
• Driving lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensuring compliance with AS9100 and aerospace quality standards

What We’re Looking For

• Experience within composites manufacturing
• Strong understanding of composite materials and manufacturing processes
• Autoclave and lamination experience
• Aerospace, defence, motorsport or advanced engineering background

• Ability to work cross-functionally within engineering and manufacturing teams
