Job summary

Our manufacturing client near Dartford, Kent, seeks an experienced Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineer to support day-to-day plant operations, program machines, validate programs and ensure production is fully supported. The role requires DFM, lean manufacturing knowledge, ERP/MRP familiarity, and hands-on maintenance.

You will create programs for automatic equipment, diagnose faults, and drive continuous improvement to maintain high quality.

Qualifications

• DFM and lean manufacturing knowledge required.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Degree in electro-mechanical engineering preferred.
• Ability to program and fault-diagnose automated equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day plant operations and ensure production is fully supported.
• Program machines and validate automated programs.
• Perform first-line maintenance to keep equipment operational.
• Diagnose faults and identify root causes under pressure.

Job description

Our manufacturing Client on the outskirts of Dartford is seeking a experienced Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineer - the role is to assist in day-to-day plant operations, programming machines, validating programs and ensuring production is fully supported. The successful candidate will continually improve manufacturing efficiencies by utilizing continuous improvement techniques whilst maintaining a high level of quality.

The key skills and qualities of a Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineer are:

• Understanding DFM processes.
• Understanding lean manufacturing techniques.
• Understanding of computerised manufacturing systems (ERP, MRP)
• Keep equipment operational - first line maintenance and repairs
• Create programs for automatic programmable equipment
• Diagnose machine faults and production equipment failures, identifying root causes
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Able to communicate, both within the working group and the organisation
• Understanding project management and prioritize multiple projects
• Ideally degree educated - electro mechanical
• Able to write programs for a variety of machines
• Hands on maintenance and problem-solving experience
• Computer literate
• Experience within manufacturing essential (desirable - electronic assembly)
