Job summary

The JobsBoard is seeking a Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineer for a manufacturing client near Dartford, Kent. The role covers day-to-day plant operations, programming machines, validating programs and supporting production.

You will continually improve manufacturing efficiencies using continuous improvement techniques while maintaining high quality. Working hours are 8am–4pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours), with 25 days of holiday plus 8 bank holidays.

Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineer - 1443

Our manufacturing client on the outskirts of Dartford is seeking an experienced Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineer. The role is to assist in day-to-day plant operations, programming machines, validating programs and ensuring production is fully supported. The successful candidate will continually improve manufacturing efficiencies by utilising continuous improvement techniques whilst maintaining a high level of quality.

Job role: Permanent, full time
Salary: Competitive - discussed on first phone call
Location: Near Dartford, Kent
Hours: 8am to 4pm, Monday - Friday - 37.5 hours per week
Holiday: 25 days + 8 bank holidays

Key Skills and Qualities

• Understanding of DFM processes
• Understanding of lean manufacturing techniques
• Understanding of computerised manufacturing systems (ERP, MRP)
• Keep equipment operational - first line maintenance and repairs
• Create programs for automatic programmable equipment
• Diagnose machine faults and production equipment failures, identifying root causes
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Able to communicate, both within the working group and the organisation
• Understanding of project management and able to prioritise multiple projects
• Ideally degree educated - electro mechanical
• Able to write programs for a variety of machines
• Hands-on maintenance and problem-solving experience
• Computer literate
• Experience within manufacturing essential (electronic assembly experience desirable)
