Job description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and results-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve manufacturing operations with a focus on plastic injection molding processes. This role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on experience in injection molding, process optimization, and quality improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and ensure consistent product performance.

Position Responsibilities
Process Improvement & Optimization
  • Monitor and optimize plastic injection molding processes to improve cycle times, reduce defects, and increase overall efficiency.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement.
  • Recommend and implement tooling and equipment upgrades as needed.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
  • Provide on-the-floor technical support to resolve process and equipment issues quickly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that maintain quality and productivity.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for non-conformances.
Project Support & Implementation
  • Participate in new product launches, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of plastic parts.
  • Support tooling validation, sample runs, and transition to full production.
  • Help drive lean manufacturing initiatives and cost-saving projects.
Documentation & Quality Assurance
  • Maintain accurate process documentation, standard work instructions, and maintenance logs.
  • Support quality assurance teams with documentation, testing methods, and process audits.
  • Ensure all processes meet industry and company safety and quality standards.
Prerequisites
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role, preferably in plastic injection molding.
  • Strong knowledge of injection molding machines, tooling, and materials.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting skills and ability to work in a production-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with engineering analysis tools and production metrics.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Certifications in injection molding (e.g., RJG Master Molder) or lean manufacturing are preferred but not required.
