Job summary

Manpower (United Kingdom) seeks a Manufacturing Engineer in Coventry for a 6‑month contract. You will ensure manufacturing methods, tooling, and documentation are optimal, enabling on-time, cost-competitive production of parts.

Responsibilities cover CNC programming, process validation, and cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvements. Key requirements include 5‑axis CNC programming, Mastercam/SolidWorks proficiency, and experience with SAP and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Mastercam and SolidWorks for fixtures and production drawings.
• Strong programming knowledge for turning and milling on 5-axis CNC machines.
• Experience using SAP and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Skilled in design principles and developing tooling and process documentation.
• Lean Manufacturing methods including Zero Defects, Green Belt activities and Kaizen.

• Create CNC programs to support industrialisation of new and legacy components.
• Create routing and rework salvage schemes for production.
• Engage in PFMEA and other Zero Defect tasks to reduce non-conformance and improve FPY.
• Develop and validate manufacturing methods.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, tooling specs, and routings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, quality, supply chain).
• Identify and resolve process issues.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train and support manufacturing staff.

Role: Manufacturing Engineer Location: Coventry Duration: 6 months Rate: Negotiable Inside IR35: Umbrella Purpose: A manufacturing engineer ensures that all manufacturing methods, process steps, tooling and fixtures, technical documentation, routings, and BOMs are accurate and optimized. Their role is to enable the production of conforming parts within competitive timeframes and costs, ensuring timely delivery to customers, while swiftly identifying and eliminating any process issues .

Key responsibilities:
