Job summary

ReeVR in East Sussex is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for an initial 3-month rolling contract. You will work hands-on on CNC programming, precision machining and manufacturing process improvement to optimise methods and ensure high quality.

You will design fixtures in SolidWorks, develop machining strategies for milling and turning, and support production to reduce costs, cycle times and waste while maintaining tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• Extensive CNC programming experience with G-code and machine controls.
• Proficient with multi-axis CNC machines and fixed-head turning centres.
• Strong 3D CAD and CAM software skills for design and programming.
• Experience with SolidWorks/SolidCAM and Vericut is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Write, amend and prove out CNC programs for milling and turning.
• Design bespoke workholding and fixtures using SolidWorks.
• Develop machining strategies using CAM software for milling and turning.
• Create and maintain CNC setup sheets, tooling and fixture documentation.
• Support multi-axis CNC machining, including 5-axis and multitasking machines.
• Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, quality and productivity.
• Reduce manufacturing costs, waste and cycle times.
• Provide technical support and training to production staff.

Manufacturing Engineer – Outside IR35

Location: East Sussex
Contract: 3-month rolling contract
Rate: Dependent on experience
Start Date: ASAP

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for an initial 3-month rolling contract with a start as soon as possible, based in East Sussex.

This is a hands-on role focused on CNC programming, precision machining and manufacturing process improvement. You will work closely with the production team to optimise manufacturing methods, improve productivity, reduce costs and maintain high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, amend and prove out CNC programs using machine controls and CAD/CAM software.
• Design bespoke workholding and fixtures using SolidWorks.
• Develop machining strategies using CAM software for milling and turning.
• Create and maintain CNC setup sheets, tooling and fixture documentation.
• Support multi-axis CNC machining, including 5-axis, 32 and multitasking machines.
• Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, quality and productivity.
• Reduce manufacturing costs, waste and cycle times.
• Provide technical support and training to production staff.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience machining aluminium and stainless steel.
• Strong CNC programming skills, including G-code.
• Experience with multi-axis CNC machines and fixed-head turning centres.
• Experience manufacturing complex, tightly toleranced components.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and advanced CAM software.
• Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience in low-volume or batch production environments.

Desirable Experience

• SolidWorks and SolidCAM.
• Vericut simulation software.
• CNC automation, including bar feeders and palletisation.
• Project management experience.

Contract Details

• Initial 3-month rolling contract.
