Job description

Techniche Global is supporting an Electronics Manufacturing firm based in Andover in hiring a Manufacturing Engineer. The successful candidate will assist senior engineers and management in executing tasks for various engineering projects. Responsibilities include coordinating and carrying out engineering activities to meet product line or product group requirements concerning forecasted output, product quality, specifications, and delivery timelines.

Location: Andover, Hampshire (site based)
Salary: GBP40k-45k plus benefits
Duration: Permanent role
Hours: Monday - Thursday: 08:00; Friday: 08:30

PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Engineering Projects: Assist senior engineers and management in project tasks. Communicate project status, collect, present, and analyze data for evaluations.
  2. Team Working: Collaborate with other engineers and junior staff on tasks, projects, training, and development.
  3. Continuous Improvement: Develop processes to enhance quality, reduce waste, increase efficiency, and monitor process indicators.
  4. Process Validation and Verification: Use SOPs, Process Capability, and Gauge R&R to verify manufacturing processes.
  5. Engineering Documents: Ensure documentation of equipment and process SOPs is accurate and regularly reviewed.
  6. Engineer Training: Mentor junior engineers on equipment, procedures, and performance.
  7. Personal Development and Training: Identify training needs and engage in development plans.
  8. Production Training: Support in training operators on equipment and processes.
  9. Production Discipline: Ensure workmanship standards, resolve poor performance, and promote a safe working environment.
  10. Production Support: Address technical issues, optimize processes, and troubleshoot.
  11. Customer Support: Review customer documentation for compliance and communicate discrepancies.
  12. Quality Support: Assist in investigations, compile evidence for reports, and support audits.
  13. New Products and Process Introduction: Support new product/process launches, evaluate documents, and design fixtures.
  14. Maintenance: Ensure equipment operation through collaboration with maintenance teams.
  15. Business Management Systems: Help document and report procedures and KPIs.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum: HNC or HND in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Preferable: Degree (BEng/MEng) in electronics, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience: At least 2 years in a relevant manufacturing environment.
