Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking skilled CNC Machinists for a world-leading client on a dedicated weekend shift in Havant. You will set up and operate 5-axis CNC machining centres to produce high-precision, low-volume components for critical maritime systems.

Experience with ISO programs, reading engineering drawings, and a strong quality focus is essential. The role offers subsidised accommodation and meals and a competitive rate for 12-hour days and nights Fri–Sun.

Qualifications

• 5-axis CNC machining experience and programming proficiency.
• Experience with ISO programming.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.

• Use of measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers, probes.
• Setup and machining of castings using dial indicators and probes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 5-axis CNC machines.

• Tooling setup and process improvements.
• Prove-out activities, measurement and inspection.
• Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications.
• Carry out TPM and maintain good housekeeping.

Job description

Our World leading client has an immediate requirement for several CNC Machinists for their new Weekend Shift.

Position Description

Setting and operating of 5 axis CNC machining centres for the manufacture of high precision, high quality, and low volume machined parts used in the assembly of critical system supplied to the maritime industry.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for machining of parts on 5 axis CNC machining centres
• Stropping, lifting and loading materials (use of slings and overhead cranes)
• Working to engineering drawings and making CNC programming edits
• Tooling set up, support with program and process improvement activities
• Undertaking program prove out activities, parts measurement and inspection
• Ensuring product quality and conformance to specification
• Perform machine TPM activities and ensure good area housekeeping
• Work safely in line with the companies Health and Safety policy

Essential Experience

• High level of competency in setting and operating 5 axis machining centres.
• Experience of I.S.O programmes
• Understand Health & Safety environment/procedures
• Working from Engineering drawings
• Use of measuring equipment including verniers, stick mic's & probes
• Setup and machining of castings using dial indicators and probes

Education

Indentured apprenticeship or HNC / HND in a highly relevant engineering discipline

Desired Experience

• CNC Programming of parts including program generation or editing an offline programme
• Mazatrol program edit and creation
• 5 years (min) Engineering experience within the manufacturing industry
• 5 years (min) CNC Programming knowledge
• Modern Tool Cutting knowledge
• CAM experience (Mastercam & Edgecam)
• CI experience (Lean 7 wastes)
• Safety / 5S work ethic
• Computer Literate (Microsoft)
• Manual Handling, slinging and lifting, and use of cranes up to 3T

Shift & Pay

The weekend shift will be on 12hr Days & Nights across Friday, Saturday and Sunday (so paying a minimum of 36hrs).

We are looking for exceptional machinists, so the rate is highly competitive and includes subsidised accommodation and meals.
