Job summary

Corin Group in Cirencester is seeking a Manufacturing Production Engineer on a permanent basis to lead CNC programming, setup and operation, and to act as SME for CNC machines, processes and procedures.

You will develop people, drive continuous improvement, support OEE, and work with Maintenance, Process, and Production Engineers in a hybrid environment with attractive benefits.

• Time-served engineering experience post qualification.
• Good PC literacy and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct CNC programme fault finding, resolution and optimisation.
• Set, programme and operate CNC machines with competency sign-off.
• Ensure CNC, laser, and robotic systems are safe and capable.
• Address process sheets and inspection documentation issues.
• Manage non-conformances through rework and concessions.
• Analyse processes to reduce lead time and cost while boosting efficiency.
• Identify bottlenecks to maintain shop floor flow.
• Report equipment failures and propose corrective actions.
• Support OEE through consumables and performance reporting.
• Train and mentor machinists and associates.
• Lead KAIZEN and 5S improvement activities.

Job description

We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Production Engineer to join our Engineering team in Cirencester on a permanent basis. This would be working Weekends Fri / Sat / Sun 05.30-1830 each day.

As a Manufacturing Production Engineer, you will be the subject matter expert for all CNC machines, systems, processes, and procedures within the manufacturing area. You will play a critical role in developing people, ensuring operational excellence, and driving continuous improvement across production.

You will work closely with Production Engineers, Process Engineers, and the Maintenance team.

What you'll do

• Conduct CNC programme fault finding, resolution, and optimisation in collaboration with Engineers
• Set, programme, and operate CNC machines, achieving verified competency sign‑off
• Ensure machines (CNC, Laser Marker, Robots, etc.) are safe, efficient, and capable of producing required volumes at the correct quality
• Address manufacturing documentation issues including Process Sheets and Inspection Sheets
• Manage non‑conformances through Rework, Scrap, and Concession processes
• Analyse manufacturing processes and propose improvements to reduce lead time and cost while improving utilisation and efficiency
• Identify and address production bottlenecks to maintain shop floor flow
• Report equipment failures and propose corrective actions
• Manage tooling and consumables usage to ensure accurate production costing
• Support Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through consumables and performance reporting
• Train, mentor, and support Manufacturing Machinists and Associates
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives including Kaizen and 5S
• Challenge unsafe practices and maintain a safe, well‑organised working environment

About You

• Strong, hands‑on experience with CNC machines including setting, programming, and operation
• Solid understanding of CMM and manual inspection techniques
• Time‑served engineering experience post qualification (Degree, HND, T‑Level or equivalent)
• A methodical, organised approach with strong time and project management skills
• Good PC literacy, including Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative and proactive mindset
• A professional, approachable attitude with a strong sense of urgency and ownership
