Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is seeking aTechnical Buyer for a well-established engineering manufacturer in the UK. The role involves supporting day-to-day procurement, raising POs, sourcing suppliers, negotiating terms, and ensuring timely delivery within a precision engineering environment.

You will work closely with engineering, production and planning teams, maintain ERP records and assist with stock control and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing/procurement within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with suppliers.
• Good understanding of supply chain processes and procurement best practices.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day procurement activities across a wide supplier base.
• Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Source new suppliers and obtain quotations in line with business requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day procurement activities across a wide supplier base

The Candidate

• Previous experience within a purchasing/procurement role in a manufacturing or engineering environment


• Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with suppliers


• Good understanding of supply chain processes and procurement best practices


• Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines


• Comfortable working with ERP systems and Excel


• Proactive, organised, and a strong team player


• Attention to detail with a commercial mindset

Salary

£30,000 – £42,000 per annum, depending on experience
