Job summary

Leonardo in Edinburgh offers a three-year Manufacturing Apprenticeship combining college, on‑the-job learning and SVQ/Diploma qualifications. You’ll rotate through Mechanical, Electromechanical and Assembly work, while developing skills in production, testing and supply chain management.

The programme starts with attending college for SVQ Level 2, followed by placements across departments, with support from the Early Careers team and a commitment to safety and process compliance.

Qualifications

• 4 National 5 (A-C) or equivalent.
• Mandatory: Mathematics & English.
• Plus another two subjects, preferably technological subjects e.g. Graphic Communication, Product Design, Craft & Design, Tech Studies, Computing, Woodwork, Metalwork etc.

Responsibilities

• Attend college full-time for SVQ Level 2 during initial months, followed by rotational placements across Mechanical, Electromechanical, Electro Optic Assembly, Environmental Facility, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering, Machine Shop and Repairs.
• Develop manufacturing experience and learn to build and test radar and laser systems while understanding material flow through the supply chain.
