Job summary

IMS specialises in high-temperature insulation materials and components and is offering a Manufacturing Apprentice role in the UK. You will learn under experienced technicians and engineers, gaining hands-on experience while completing a recognised apprenticeship programme.

You will study manufacturing processes, assist with equipment operation, and contribute to safe, quality production targets. The role supports long‑term career development within the IMS/SIG group.

Qualifications

• GCSE Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Interest in manufacturing, engineering or technical disciplines.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual and self-motivated.
• Aged 18 or over.

Responsibilities

• Complete a recognised Manufacturing Apprenticeship qualification.
• Learn and apply manufacturing processes, procedures and best practices.
• Assist with the operation of manufacturing equipment and machinery under supervision.
• Support production activities to achieve safety, quality, cost and delivery targets.
• Participate in routine maintenance, inspection and troubleshooting activities.
• Learn to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Assist with quality inspections and product testing activities.
• Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.
• Follow all health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.
• Contribute ideas for continuous improvement of processes.
• Work closely with experienced team members to develop technical knowledge and practical skills.
• Participate in training sessions, workplace assessments and college learning activities.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards.
• Undertake other reasonable duties associated with the apprenticeship programme.
