Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment Agency is seeking a Manual Turner for a manufacturing environment. You will set and operate manual lathes to tight tolerances, working from drawings and SOPs to meet production schedules.

You'll join a team that values knowledge sharing and continuous improvement, receiving on-the-job training and seeing your ideas contribute to process enhancements and quality improvements. This role offers stability with on-site parking, structured on-the-job training, and clear supervision

Qualifications

• Experience setting manual lathe machines is an advantage but not essential.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantage but not essential.
• An understanding of reading manufacturing drawings is an advantage but not essential.
• Basic computer and numerical literacy for data entry and technical drawings.
• Experience working to tight tolerances is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating manual lathes safely to manufacture components.
• Working from drawings, standard operating procedures and process control documents.
• Meeting production schedules and agreed timescales.
• Supporting continuous improvement of quality, products and procedures.
• Sharing experience, knowledge and best practice with colleagues.
• Raising tooling, resource or process issues to your team leader promptly.

You'll be trusted to set and run manual lathes to tight tolerances, with your accuracy relied on every single shift.
