Bennett & Game Recruitment is seeking a Manual Machinist in Sheffield to set and operate Manual Lathes with precise turning experience. You will read mechanical drawings, measure with micrometers and Vernier calipers, and ensure tolerances are met while following safety standards.

The role requires a mechanical apprenticeship or City and Guilds qualification, and a valid UK driving licence. Commutable distance to Sheffield is essential for this on-site position, with a competitive hourly rate.

Position: Manual Machinist
Location: Sheffield
Rate £16.93 (34,334.04 per annum)

Manual Machinist required for a well-established specialist supplier of hydraulic and Electric Submersible Pumps. The successful Candidate will be undertaking Setting and Operating Manual Lathes. It is envisioned that the successful candidate will come from a background in Manual Machining with a strong level of turning experience, have completed a Mechanical apprenticeship and be based within a commutable distance of Sheffield.

Manual Machinist Job Overview

• Set and operate Manual Lathes
• Calculator dimensions and tolerances using Micrometres, Vernier's, Callipers, etc.
• Monitor Feed and speed of manufacturing machinery
• Measuring and recording build tolerances and determine parts that require repair.
• Self-inspecting your own work with hand tools

Manual Machinist Job Requirements

• Previous experience in the setting and operating of Manual Lathes
• Able to read and interpret Mechanical drawings
• Either Time served or City and Guilds qualified in Mechanical Engineering
• Familiarity with Health and safety standards, any H&S qualifications would be a bonus
• Based within a commutable distance of Sheffield
• Full UK Driving licence

• £16.93 per hour
• Monday - Thursday 8:00 - 16:30 Friday 8:00 - 15:30,
• 39 hour week
• 33 days holiday inclusive of Bank holidays
