Job summary

Precision People in Sheffield is seeking a Manual Machinist to produce components from drawings. You will operate manual and, where experienced, CNC milling, selecting materials and tooling to manufacture required parts. You will inspect using measurement tools and adapt to varied small-batch work with minimal supervision.

The role runs 35 hours per week with day shifts (8:00–16:00), in a friendly small-company environment offering 33 days holiday, pension, and free onsite parking.

Qualifications

• Experience in Manual Milling.
• CNC Milling experience desirable but not essential.
• Basic Sheet Metal Fabrication & Assembly.
• Must be able to work from drawings and be self-sufficient.
• Happy working with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to commute to the Sheffield S3 postcode area.

The Role - Manual Milling Machinist

• Working independently to produce components from drawings
• Using a variety of engineering techniques, including Manual Milling and CNC Milling (if experienced)
• Choosing materials and tooling, then producing the required part
• Quality checking components, using various measurement tools and techniques
• Other duties may arise - an open mindset is essential
• 35 hours per week
• Day Shifts, Monday to Friday, Flexible hours between 8.00am and 4.00pm

Experience Required - Manual Miller

• Experience in Manual Milling
• CNC Milling experience is desirable but not essential
• Basic Sheet Metal Fabrication & Assembly
• Small company experience / Must be adaptable
• Manual Lathe - not essential
• Siemens controls - not essential
• Must be able to work from drawings and be self-sufficient
• Work is in small batches and quite varied
• Ability to work directly from CAD drawings
• Quality checking and inspection experience
• Able to choose own materials and tooling
• Happy working with minimal supervision
• Must be able to commute to the Sheffield S3 postcode area
