Job summary

Yolk Recruitment Ltd in Pontypool is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join a leading high precision manufacturing business. You will operate conventional workshop equipment, read engineering drawings and ensure components meet specifications.

This role operates a 3-shift pattern (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am) with overtime opportunities, a strong benefits package, and career development opportunities within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience using conventional workshop machinery.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Apprenticeship is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate conventional workshop equipment, including lathes, to produce components according to specification.
• Carry out inspection of components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Work in accordance with health and safety procedures.

This opportunity would well suit an experienced Manual Machinist, but with one of the strongest training resources in the region is also open to those who need a little more support. If you've worked with a manual lathe, mill or other conventional machinery, can read engineering drawings and are passionate about developing yourself, this is a great opportunity for you!

This is a three shift role, working a week of 6am - 2pm, a week of 2pm - 10pm and a week of 10pm - 6am. This is what you'll be doing

• Operating conventional workshop equipment, including lathes, to produce components according to specification
• Carrying out inspection of components
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Working according to health and safety procedures
