Role: CNC & Manual Grinder

Type: Permanent

Pay: £38,000 per annum

Hours: Rotating Shifts - Week 1: Monday - Thursday: 06:00-14:00, Friday: 06:00-13:00; Week 2: Monday - Thursday: 14:00-22:00, Friday: 13:00-20:00.

Location: Northampton

I'm supporting a well-established manufacturing business within the automotive sector who are looking to appoint an experienced CNC & Manual Grinder. This role plays an important part in producing high-quality precision components used across a range of automotive applications.

Job Description
  • Set and operate CNC grinding machines, including Junker and Kellenburger models
  • Set and operate manual cylindrical and surface grinders
  • Manufacture and modify camshafts, crankshafts and other precision engine components
  • Carry out quality checks using gauges, CMMs and Adcole equipment
  • Support continuous improvement, TPM activities and assist junior team members
Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing or automotive environments
  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and information
  • Knowledge of internal/external, between-centres and surface grinding methods
  • Competence with work holding, tool setting and general machining practices
  • Strong problem-solving ability with understanding of machine operation
