People First Team Japan/ピープルファーストチームジャパン is seeking a Mandarin-speaking Senior Associate in Customer Due Diligence in the United Kingdom. You will ensure AML/KYC/CDD compliance across banking operations, conduct robust risk monitoring, and support regulatory reporting in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

The role requires Mandarin fluency, a finance-related degree, and experience in financial crime compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field.
• Experience in AML, KYC, and CDD including onboarding, periodic reviews, or remediation projects.
• Experience analyzing complex corporate ownership structures.
• Knowledge of FATCA, JMLSG, AML and FCA regulations.
• GDPR understanding and data privacy awareness.
• Excellent English and Mandarin communication skills.
• Attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsabilités

• Conduct daily transaction monitoring to ensure alerts are effectively managed.
• Identify money laundering trends and red flags to determine required investigations.
• Complete CDD reviews for existing clients within required timeframes and ensure quality of reviews.
• Ensure all CDD reviews meet Financial Crime and Compliance standards and maintain consistency.
• Liaise with internal teams regarding discrepancies or additional information.
• Resolve customer queries and issues promptly.
• Authorise daily transactions and ensure operations comply with internal policies.
• Engage with customers regarding Source of Wealth and Source of Funds for ongoing CDD reviews.
• Provide guidance in resolving complex or frequent processes and challenges.
• Undertake any other tasks as required.
