Engage Education are recruiting a reliable, proactive School Caretaker to join a welcoming school in Manchester. You will support day-to-day maintenance, ensuring buildings and grounds are safe, clean and secure, with responsibilities covering general repairs, site checks, deliveries, and coordinating with staff.

The role requires a practical, proactive individual who can work independently yet collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team and school colleagues.

Qualifications

• Experience as a school caretaker or similar role is advantageous.
• Knowledge of health and safety and site procedures desirable.
• Reliable, practical and hardworking.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the school buildings and grounds are safe, clean and secure.
• Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs.
• Completing regular checks of the site, including doors, windows, lighting and facilities.
• Opening and locking the school premises as required.
• Setting up and moving furniture and equipment for school activities.
• Managing deliveries and contractors attending the site.
• Reporting maintenance issues and arranging repairs where necessary.
• Supporting health and safety procedures across the school.
• Maintaining outdoor areas and ensuring the grounds are presentable.
• Assisting with emergency procedures and site security.
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and safety checks.
• Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and school staff.
