Job summary

Tact in Manchester is seeking a hands-on Infrastructure DevOps Engineer to own production Kubernetes clusters across bare‑metal and cloud environments. You will build and refine CI/CD pipelines for rapid, reliable deployments and manage monitoring, security, and incident response as the platform scales.

Ideal candidates bring strong Linux/networking fundamentals, experience with self-hosted infra, and tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ArgoCD, Ansible, Go and Python.

Qualifications

• Experience running Kubernetes clusters in production.
• Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Solid Linux and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with self-hosted infrastructure, not just managed clouds.
• Understanding of SOC 2, incident management and on‑call responsibilities.
• Proactive, curious and ownership‑driven in a small team.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus/Grafana/OpenTelemetry.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of Kubernetes clusters across bare‑metal and cloud environments.
• Building and improving CI/CD pipelines so engineers can deploy quickly and reliably.
• Managing monitoring, observability and infrastructure performance.
• Owning SOC 2 processes, incident reporting and infrastructure security.
• Troubleshooting infrastructure issues and participating in on‑call support.
• Making technical decisions around platform scaling as the company grows.
