Job summary

Equans UK & Ireland is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor based at our Hatfield head office. You will travel to sites across London and the South East on a weekly basis.

This is a full-time role with a competitive salary and benefits package including a company vehicle. You will oversee all commercial aspects of large projects, ensure robust financial reporting, manage risk, and lead on contractual/commercial decisions while upholding SHEQ standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Experience in a senior surveying role reporting to commercial lead or director.
• Demonstrated experience with JCT/NEC/PPC contracts.
• Broad experience in a Main Contracting Commercial role.
• Excellent verbal and numerical communication and negotiation skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Job description

Equans is looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our team. You will be based in our head office in Hatfield whilst attending our sites across London and South East on a weekly basis. This is a full-time role. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

The role will oversee all commercial elements of either a large single project or a suite of projects together with holding a wider interest in the overall commercial performance of the Region, maximising profitability, protecting the company’s legal and contractual obligations and leading on all financial and commercial issues.

• Provide support to the regional Board of Directors in identifying and managing risk, with all relevant mitigation measures in place, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting at all times.
• Aspire to the highest standards of commercial leadership and behaviours, acting decisively and promptly to achieve the best outcomes for the company.
• Maintain, promote and retain strong relationships with external parties, providing mutual benefits and promoting teamwork and co-operation across all departments.
• Understand and adhere to the company Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) policy and strategy, setting a positive and proactive example in all SHEQ-related matters.

Who are you?

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or appropriate alternative.
• Experience within a senior surveying position reporting to either a commercial manager or director.
• Demonstrable experience in relevant forms of contract including JCT / NEC / PPC.
• Wide experience in a relevant Main Contracting Commercial role.
• Excellence verbal communication skills, numerical skills and negotiation/influencing skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
