Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor for a key civils project in Cockfosters, London. You will lead the commercial team, oversee delivery and manage major civils packages, ensuring NEC-based changes and claims are handled efficiently.

The role requires substantial experience as an SQS/MQS with Tier 1 main contractor exposure and strong stakeholder management skills. Competitive package on offer.

• Accredited course by RICS/CIOB/ICES required.
• Experience as SQS/MQS for a Tier 1 Main Contractor.
• Strong NEC experience, including change and claims management.
• Experience managing and developing a commercial team.

We have a superb opportunity for a Manging Quantity Surveyor to join our team working on our project at Cockfosters, London.

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll take a lead role within the commercial function, managing a team of Quantity Surveyors and overseeing the commercial delivery of significant civils packages on the project.

About You

• An accredited course by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES).
• Solid experience as a SQS/MQS from a Tier 1 Main Contractor.
• Excellent commercial and contractual understanding.
• Strong NEC experience, including change and claims management.
• Previous experience managing and developing a commercial team.
• Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
