Job summary

Gallagher Bassett, in the United Kingdom, seeks a Managing Director to lead the strategy, performance and growth of the loss adjusting business while ensuring exceptional client service and market-leading technical expertise.

You will build and lead a high-performing team, strengthen client relationships across insurers, brokers and corporate clients, and position the firm as the first-choice partner while championing innovation and regulatory excellence.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience within loss adjusting, claims or insurance operations with strong technical expertise in Property and/or Casualty.
• Proven track record of driving business growth, operational excellence and commercial performance including P&L responsibility.
• Experienced in leading, developing and motivating high-performing technical teams.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills with market credibility.
• ACII or FCII qualification is desirable.

Overview

As Managing Director, you will lead the strategy, performance and growth of the business, ensuring the delivery of exceptional client service, strong financial results and market-leading technical expertise. You will be responsible for building a high‑performing team, strengthening client relationships and positioning the business as the first‑choice partner for insurers, brokers and corporate clients.

• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with an established network and market credibility.
• ACII or FCII qualified (ACILA/FCILA desirable).
• Strategic, commercial and growth‑focused leader with a collaborative approach.
