Managing Director – Charity Sector – Stratford-upon-Avon (site based 90%, plus travel to other facilities) Salary of £60,000 - £70,000 – Plus Excellent Benefits

AskVerityis proud to be supporting this Warwickshire charity who support adults who have learning difficulties or physical disabilities. My client empowers these individuals to optimise their potential and live fulfilling and independent lives in the community with which they live. This is achieved through providing a wide range of support, with a central focus of enabling individuals to live independently whether that is through residential, supported living, respite, or community day care services. My client currently provide these services across Worcestershire and Warwickshire.

My clients range of services include supporting people to live independently within their own home or in one of their homes through residential and supported living services or community day activities. They offer short breaks, enabling individuals to have some time away from home - perhaps just as a respite visit, a short holiday, or as a first step in learning how to live a more independent life in the community.

My client's approach is to provide the right support in the right setting, facilitating individuals to develop independent living skills as well as ensuring clinical compliance, safety, and security. People are supported to lead an active social life in the community, with the reassurance of highly sensitive and person-centred support.

The Vacancy – Managing Director:

The Managing Director will oversee the overall direction of the organisation. They are responsible for developing and implementing strategies and policies to ensure that the organisation will meet relevant targets, as agreed with the board of trustees. They monitor the organisation’s performance indicators and any budgetary and financial activities. They appoint the Managers and department heads. They identify cost-cutting measures to improve the operations and performance to meet the organisation’s goals.

Who are we looking to appoint:

My client is looking for candidates with a strong background in Senior leadership and possessing experience at a strategic leadership and executive management level. On-the-job management experience is essential, with a proven track record in leading teams and achieving results.

You will possess the following skills: -

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with people across the business and externally, including service users and their parents/guardians.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills at a strategic level.
  • Leadership skills to lead executive and strategic leadership teams – 5 direct reports.
  • A sound knowledge of CQC / Clinical Governance and audit knowledge.
  • Strong Health & Social care background at a senior level.
  • An advocate for the charity to raise the profile further within the local community.
  • People management experience with the skills to manage internal and external conflicts.
  • The ability to use your judgment to make executive decisions.
  • The ability to prioritise between tasks and delegate, where possible.
  • Excellent planning skills to implement strategies to meet the organisation’s goals.
  • The ability to manage and motivate staff.
  • Report Writing / Presenting.
  • A compassionate and caring approach, and somebody who is people-oriented.
  • Collaborative working skills and the ability to take the team on a journey with you.
  • Approachable in your leadership style,hands-on, and involved day-to-day with staff on the frontline.
  • Experience of working for a charity and with a board of trustees would be advantageous.
