Handley James have been retained to confidentially search for an experienced Managing Director for an international client of theirs with a number of sites here in the UK.

Due to recent growth plans we are looking for an experienced commercially bias senior leader to drive the business through its next phase of growth. This is an exceptional opportunity to join an already successful company in taking the next step in their plan. The UK Managing Director will be responsible for overseeing overall operations, strategy, and performance of the country. This role ensures the achievement of business goals and objectives through effective leadership, strategic planning, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company’s strategic vision and long-term sales goals at country level in alignment with Group strategy.
• Develop and manage the company’s budget and financial plans.
• You will develop and lead the UK senior leadership team.
• Ensure efficient and effective day-to-day operations across all departments.
• You will implement and instil the company values, mission, vision, and strategic choices.

Candidate Requirements

• Educated to Degree/Masters level
• Strong track record of experience and success in senior leadership and management roles, with a commercial bias.
• Strong strategic planning and execution skills.
• Excellent financial management and analytical capabilities.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams and delivering results through teams.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
