Job Description:

The role

The Pensions Investment Team works with both corporate sponsors and trustee boards, advising on investment strategy, investment governance, delegation models, delegated (FM/OICO) manager selections, and health checks of existing delegated arrangements. While the focus is investment consulting, there are also opportunities to contribute to wider pensions-related projects, including risk transfer and data-driven initiatives across PwC.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on dynamic and high-impact investment projects, engaging directly with senior stakeholders and contributing to innovative solutions for our clients. You will play a key role in shaping investment strategies, supporting research initiatives, and delivering meaningful insights that drive better outcomes. With exposure to both strategic decision-making and technical execution, this role provides a diverse and rewarding experience within a collaborative and forward-thinking team.

What your days will look like:

  • Manage and deliver investment consulting engagements, ensuring high-quality and timely outcomes, working with the broader client team.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, providing clear and insightful advice.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop innovative insightful solutions.
  • Contribute to PwC-led research, supporting our knowledge base and expertise in the delegated investment space.
  • Support and guide junior team members, helping them develop their technical and consulting skills.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively support client needs and get involved in broader pensions-related projects, including risk transfer and data analytics.

This role is for you if:

  • Strong understanding of UK Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes, technical investment experience, and governance frameworks.
  • Experience advising trustee boards and/or corporate sponsors on investment-related matters.
  • Meaningful familiarity with the pensions and investment industry and the regulatory environment.
  • Progress towards or attainment of FIA (Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and their application in pensions and investment.

We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
