How will you make an impact?
The EHS Manager will lead Loughborough site(s) EHS and PSM improvement programmes. Accountable for leading the Safety Management System, developing, optimising, and continuously improving EHS processes ensuring the continued safe manufacturing of our products.

This is achieved through leading and collaborating with multi-functional teams driving a safety starts with me attitude. Through continuous improvement methodologies (PPI), develop the site EHS capabilities and site engagement to enhance our safety performance.

Position Location: UK – Loughborough – Bishop Meadow Road/Bakewell Road

Position Summary:

  • Manage Environment, Health, Safety, and Process Safety for Loughborough sites
  • Develop and implement an EHS system & framework ensuring compliance with legislation, procedures, group initiatives, and industry standards
  • Act as the point of contact with Regulatory Authorities, including arranging visits and managing actions
  • Track and evaluate site EHS performance, providing reports to ensure compliance and improvement

Responsibilities:

Environmental Health & Safety

  • Establish and maintain EHS management system and programs
  • Lead site EHS ensuring compliance with legislation and standards
  • Participate in the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
  • Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting
  • Collaborate with EHS leadership and risk management teams to implement strategies
  • Support operational teams with EHS programs, training, and risk assessments
  • Develop metrics and report on EHS performance
  • Influence and lead the EHS culture on site
  • Lead behavioral safety initiatives and feedback mechanisms
  • Serve as a technical resource for complex EHS compliance issues
  • Engage with workforce through training and communication
  • Review incident reports and assist in investigations
  • Manage EHS budget and strategic initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement (PPI) in EHS
  • Stay ahead of legislation and industry trends
  • Promote company values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, Involvement

Essentials

  • Extensive hands-on EHS experience, especially in relevant industries
  • Experience working with regulators on COMAH, IPPC, Waste Management, etc.
  • Understanding of ISO14001 EMS
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Proven training, investigation, and project management skills
  • Experience in behavioral safety and human factors
  • Leadership and influencing skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
  • NEBOSH National Diploma or General Certificate
  • Member of IOSH (Grad, Tech, or Chartered)
  • Member of IEMA (Full or Chartered)
  • Experience leading ISO14001 EMS
  • Knowledge of HSE and EA guidance and ACOPs
