Job description

Manager

Capital Markets Transformation

At EY,you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself and a better working world for all.

We’re changing the way Financial Services operate. We offer a unique, industry-focused offering within our Capital Markets Transformation practice geared to changing how the top-tier investment banks, infrastructure providers, and regulators operate.

Our Managers are at the very forefront of this work, focusing and shaping the transformation which will deliver new strategies, define purpose and set new standards of customer experience. These are pivotal roles at the heart of our business.

So, if you have strong leadership skills and a proven track record of delivering change in the capital markets industry, why not join us on our growth journey and help us build a better working world for our clients, colleagues and society at large.

The opportunity

The Wholesale Banking and Capital Markets (WBCM) team brings together a deep knowledge of industry trends and strong execution experienceto help our clients develop and execute their capital markets transformation agendas. We operate in a highly collaborative business environment, and our team culture, focused on personal growth, learning, and helping each other, is critical to our success.

As a Manager in our team, you will lead engagements to help clients at all levels of an organisation solve their most important business challenges. You’ll help them define and execute change from front-to-back relating to a wide range of agendas, such as cost transformation, process re-engineering, risk and controls mapping, regulatory change, digital strategy, and organisational re-structuring.

You’ll be pivotal in making this happen so if you are interested in being part of a growing team, working with some of the most recognisable names in the Capital Markets industry, and reaching your full potential, we want to hear from you.

Your key responsibilities

As a Manager, you will be responsible for leading client delivery teams in designing, developing and executing/implementing strategic and operational initiatives for our clients. You will deliver large-scale projects assessing and mitigating engagement risks, driving conclusions, and reviewing the output produced by the team. You will also be responsible for supporting the Capital Markets practice in business development and go-to-market (GTM) initiatives, enhancing our capabilities and services.

To qualify for the role, you must have some or all of the following:

  • Previous experience in financial services consulting or comparable experience driving transformation initiatives
  • Strong track record in managing project delivery, with an ability to lead teams in the development and delivery of high-quality output against project objectives to tight deadlines
  • Previous experience and expertise in leading or assisting in the transformation of relevant capital markets processes, such as:
    • Client onboarding and KYC / counterparty review processes
    • Front office optimisation and digitisation
    • Trade capture, validation, and confirmation
    • Settlement and clearing processes
    • Transaction reporting
  • We require individuals who have a deep understanding in settlement flows, and associated industry-wide pain points
  • Specifically, we need people with deep post-trade experience, as we anticipate our clients will need to invest significantly in post trade optimization to be able to meet the new global settlement timeline.
  • Previous experience relating to one or more of the following: front-office transformation, operating models, process-re-engineering, cost transformation regulatory change, risk and controls, operational resilience, regulatory change, organisational re-structuring, digital strategy, and/or tech-enabled transformation
  • Knowledge of a range of financial products (e.g., derivatives, equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, and commodities) and industries (e.g., investment banking, broker-dealers, custody, fund administration, investment management)
  • Structured thinking, intellectual curiosity, and a passion to learn

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Keen insights into inefficiencies across processes in the Capital Markets sector and ideas on how to improve organisational performance
  • Demonstrated success in understanding clients’ needs and developing service offerings to meet their needs, including providing advice on defining and designing business strategy, operations and other functional strategies
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills and a self-starter who is comfortable working in a fluid project environment with uncertainty and ambiguity
  • Expertise in cultivating mid- to senior-level relationships with clients and the ability to interact with clients up to the C-suite level
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint

What we look for

We are looking for people passionate about accelerating their careers in Capital Markets and who want to help transform the financial services industry. If you have relevant experience in advisory roles, a passion for Capital Markets, combined with the drive to help businesses achieve their potential, this role is for you.

What we offer

We offer a competitive remuneration package where you’ll be rewarded for your individual and team performance. Our comprehensive Total Rewards package includes support for flexible working and career development, and with FlexEY you can select benefits that suit your needs, covering holidays, health and well-being, insurance, savings, and a wide range of discounts, offers and promotions. Plus, we offer:

  • Continuous learning: You’ll develop the mindset and skills to navigate whatever comes next.
  • Success as defined by you: We’ll provide the tools and flexibility, so you can make a meaningful impact, your way.
  • Transformative leadership: We’ll give you the insights, coaching and confidence to be the leader the world needs.
  • Diverse and inclusive culture: You’ll be embraced for who you are and empowered to use your voice to help others find theirs.

If you can demonstrate that you meet the criteria above, please contact us as soon as possible.

The exceptional EY experience. It’s yours to build.
