Job summary

Benllech Preschool is seeking an experienced Preschool Manager to lead the staff team, oversee day-to-day running and ensure high standards of safeguarding, care, learning and development. You will work closely with staff, parents/carers, the Preschool Committee and external professionals to maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Ideal candidates are working towards a Level 5 qualification or have proven leadership experience in an Early Years setting,

Qualifications

• Is ideally working towards a Level 5 qualification, or is willing to work towards one.
• Has experience working within an Early Years or preschool setting.
• Has previous leadership or management experience, or demonstrates the skills and potential to progress into a management role.
• Speaks Welsh or is willing to learn.
• Has strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and support the Early Years team.
• Oversee the day-to-day running and organisation of the preschool.
• Ensure high standards of safeguarding, care, learning and development.
• Support the implementation of funded nursery settings where applicable.
• Ensure CIW compliance and follow procedures.
• Work with parents/carers, the Preschool Committee and external agencies.
• Support staff development, supervision and performance.
• Maintain records and follow administrative procedures.
• Contribute to financial and operational management.
• Identify funding opportunities and apply for grants.
• Develop new initiatives to enhance provision for children and families.

Benllech Preschool is looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated Preschool Manager to join our friendly and established team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Early Years practitioner who is ready to take the next step in their career, or an existing manager looking for a new challenge within a supportive community preschool setting. As Preschool Manager, you will have responsibility for the day-to-day management and smooth running of the preschool, providing effective leadership to the staff team and ensuring that children receive the highest standard of care, learning and development. You will work closely with staff, children, parents/carers, the Preschool Committee and external professionals to maintain a safe, nurturing, inclusive and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Leading, managing and supporting the Early Years team
• Overseeing the day-to-day running and organisation of the preschool
• Ensuring high standards of safeguarding, care, learning and development
• Supporting the implementation of the Curriculum for Funded Non-Maintained Nursery Settings
• Ensuring compliance with CIW requirements, policies and procedures
• Working collaboratively with parents/carers, the Preschool Committee and external agencies
• Supporting staff development, supervision and performance
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring appropriate administrative procedures are followed
• Contributing to the financial and operational management of the preschool
• Identifying suitable funding opportunities and taking responsibility for researching and applying for relevant grants and funding to support the continued development of the preschool
• Helping to develop new initiatives and opportunities to enhance the provision for children and families
• Promoting a positive, welcoming and inclusive environment for children, families and staff We Are Looking For Someone Who:

Hours of work

Term Time Monday - Friday 8.30am - 16.30pm Hours may be subject to change depending on preschool demand and operational requirements.
