Page Personnel is partnering with a UK-based business seeking a hands-on Management Accountant to strengthen financial reporting and processes. You will produce monthly management accounts, manage stock accounting across materials and goods, and support cost analysis and VAT returns.

The role requires experience in manufacturing SMEs, a qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) or equivalent experience, and strong Excel skills with a proactive mindset to improve month-end processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Experience within a manufacturing SME.
• Experience preparing management accounts and month-end journals.
• Strong understanding of stock accounting (raw materials, WIP, finished goods).
• Excellent Excel skills with confidence handling financial data.
• Proactive mindset and ability to suggest process improvements.

Responsabilités

• Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Own stock workings, journals and reconciliations across RM, WIP and FG.
• Support manufacturing cost analysis including labour costs, product costing and margins.
• Prepare monthly VAT returns and sales reconciliations.
• Support year-end statutory audit providing schedules and information to auditors.
• Identify opportunities to improve month-end processes, reporting accuracy and controls.

I'm working with an established, UK-based business turning over circa. £50 million turnover. They have experienced significant growth in recent years and continue to expand their international presence.Supplying a diverse global customer base, the business operates across several revenue streams and has built a strong reputation within its market. With increasing international activity and a growing operational footprint, the finance function is evolving to support the next stage of its development. They're now looking for a hands-on Management Accountant who can strengthen financial reporting, improve processes and bring fresh ideas to a close-knit team.

Job Description

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Take ownership of stock workings, journals and reconciliations across raw materials, work in progress and finished goods.
• Support manufacturing cost analysis, including labour costs, product costings and margin reporting.
• Prepare monthly VAT returns and sales reconciliations.
• Support the year-end statutory audit, providing schedules and financial information to external auditors.
• Identify opportunities to improve month-end processes, reporting accuracy and financial controls.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate should have the following:

• Previous experience within a manufacturing SME.
• Ideally qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or qualified by sufficient experience.
• Experience preparing management accounts and month-end journals.
• A good understanding of stock accounting, including raw materials, work in progress and finished goods.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
• A proactive mindset, with the confidence to question existing processes and suggest improvements.
