Job summary

Morgan McKinley is recruiting a Management Accountant for a Guildford-based role. You will own month-end processes, prepare management accounts, and support budgeting, forecasting and audits. The role reports to the Finance Director and requires commuting during probation and a driving licence.

The ideal candidate is studying ACCA/CIMA or is AAT qualified, with prior management accounting experience and a proactive approach to financial control.

Qualifications

• Pursuing ACCA/CIMA; or AAT qualification is required.
• Experience in management accounting or financial accounting.
• Willingness to commute to offices daily during probation; driving licence may be required.

Responsibilities

• Own allocated areas of the month-end and year-end close, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules with the Finance Director.
• Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Review Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, including control accounts and open items.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and complete relevant reconciliations.
• Complete bank reconciliations and investigate unmatched transactions.
• Support VAT accounting and reconciliation.
• Assist with P&L and variance analysis.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process.
• Provide financial information and analysis to the Finance Director and wider business.
• Support year-end close and external audit requirements.
