Job summary

Morgan McKinley, Northern Home Counties, is supporting a well-established global business in Milton Keynes by appointing a Management Accountant on a permanent basis. The role is suitable for a part-qualified or newly qualified candidate who can own month-end processes and provide meaningful analysis.

You will work with stakeholders across the business, monitor KPIs, prepare management reports, and assist with budgets and year-end activities.

Qualifications

• Part-Qualified CIMA or ACCA, AAT Qualified, or newly qualified in a relevant accounting qualification.
• Experience within a management accounting environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
• Commercially aware with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with a can-do attitude; able to work under pressure.
• Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of producing accurate and timely month-end management accounts and departmental P&Ls.
• Monitor KPIs, highlighting trends and variances with recommendations for improvement.
• Reconcile balance sheets on a monthly basis.
• Prepare regular management reporting and financial analysis.
• Collaborate with budget holders and stakeholders on performance and results.
• Support annual budgets and forecasts with relevant analysis.
• Provide insightful analysis to support commercial and operational decisions.
• Assist with year-end processes, audits, and ad hoc financial projects.

They are seeking a proactive and hands-on Part-Qualified or Newly Qualified Management Accountant who can take ownership of the month-end process, provide meaningful financial analysis and work closely with stakeholders across the business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of producing accurate and timely month-end management accounts and departmental P&Ls.
• Monitor KPIs, highlighting trends, analysing variances and providing recommendations for improvement.
• Take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are fully reconciled on a monthly basis.
• Prepare and provide regular management reporting and financial analysis.
• Work closely with budget holders and key stakeholders to understand business performance and financial results.
• Support the production of annual budgets and forecasts, providing relevant financial analysis and insight.
• Provide insightful analysis to support commercial and operational decision-making.
• Assist with year-end processes, audit requirements and other ad hoc financial projects as required.

Person Specification:

• Part-Qualified CIMA or ACCA, AAT Qualified, or newly qualified in a relevant accounting qualification.
• Previous experience within a management accounting environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
