Job summary

Gillespie Recruitment Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation in the construction sector for an experienced Management Accountant in Whickham, United Kingdom. You will support business performance, provide financial insight and help drive growth by delivering accurate monthly management accounts and robust budgeting processes.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA accountant.
• Experience within a Management Accountant role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence with financial systems.
• Experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Strong communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, budgets and forecasts.
• Provide meaningful financial analysis and commentary to support business decisions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management processes.
• Undertake financial administration, reconciliations and internal audits.
• Assist with external audits and respond to audit queries.
• Work closely with managers across the business to provide financial insight and support.
• Develop and improve financial systems, controls and reporting processes.
• Monitor income and expenditure against budgets and highlight variances.
• Support and mentor junior members of the finance team.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Maintain accurate financial records and compliance with company procedures.
