Job summary

Alexander Daniels are recruiting for a Management Accountant on behalf of a fantastic manufacturing business based in Burton upon Trent on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering robust financial reporting, driving commercial decision-making, and providing valuable insight into manufacturing performance and costing processes.

Qualifications

• ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, product costing and manufacturing finance.
• Experience with stock accounting and inventory management.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong stakeholder management with operations teams.
• Available to commence employment at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis.
• Produce weekly and monthly KPI reports for senior management.
• Own and maintain standard costing models.
• Analyze manufacturing variances across materials, labour and overheads.
• Review stock valuations and inventory controls.
• Partner with production and operations to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning.
• Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support continuous improvement projects.
• Balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls maintenance.
• Support audit requests and statutory reporting; provide financial commentary.

Candidate Requirements
