Job summary

Reed is seeking a proactive Management Accountant to join its finance team in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on producing accurate management information, supporting month-end processes, and driving continuous improvement across finance operations.

You will work closely with two Accounts Assistants, manage multi-currency bank reconciliations, prepare VAT returns across jurisdictions, and provide financial guidance to colleagues across the business, with international exposure.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and assist with group reporting.
• Analyse, manipulate and interpret financial data to support business reporting.
• Prepare financial schedules, reports and commentary.
• Complete month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and close activities.
• Manage stock funding reconciliations across multiple lending providers.
• Supervise two Accounts Assistants.
• Review treasury, purchase ledger and bank processes for accuracy and efficiency.
• Oversee reconciliations for multi-currency bank accounts.
• Provide cover for treasury and purchase ledger functions when required.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve finance processes.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns across multiple jurisdictions.
• Monitor stock movements and ensure accurate reporting.
• Process monthly payroll and HR records.

The Role

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Previous experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups and data analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• A solid understanding of accounting principles.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Desirable Skills

• Part-qualified AAT, ACCA or CIMA.
• Payroll experience
• Experience using ERP or finance systems.
• Knowledge of additional European languages would be advantageous.
