The finance department exists to support senior managers and the board of directors. The Management Account role is to achieve the highest standards, ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards. Key responsibilities include:
Key responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of accounting work, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Develop, consolidate, and oversee both accounting and wider business processes.
- Support internal administration across the company.
- This is a hands-on role requiring active involvement in daily operations.
- Oversee multi-currency sales invoicing, including creation, posting, and collections.
- Supervise purchase invoice processing—verification, data entry, and payments.
- Administer payroll accurately and on time.
- Prepare quarterly group accounts.
- Support cash flow forecasting by providing overhead and payroll data.
- Manage banking activities, payments, reconciliations, and petty cash.
- Oversee staff expenses, pre-paid cards, credit cards, and ensure compliance with travel policies.
- Lead month-end processing, reviews, and reporting.
- Manage year-end accounts and reporting upon completion of year-end activities.
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, prepayments, and accruals.
- Handle VAT processing and reporting.
- Contribute to annual overhead budgeting and performance reporting.
- Deliver accurate financial and management reporting.
- Build strong partnerships with senior managers, providing financial insight to support commercial decision-making.
- Ensure projects are managed with financial and commercial rigor.
- Perform additional duties as required to support company objectives.
- Maintain compliance with PV Grading, F680, and Export Licence Controls.
- Work in accordance with ISO standards.
- Adhere to the National Security Framework and List X contractor security requirements.
Skills & experience
- Highly accurate, well-organised, and detail-oriented.
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Comfortable working within a small, flexible, and dynamic team.
- Demonstrates integrity and absolute discretion at all times.
- Strong foundation in computer-based accounting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Articulate, numerate, and confident in presenting information.
- Able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, including international stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently.
- Computer literate with solid IT proficiency.
- Keen to learn and continuously develop new skills.
- Brings energy, flexibility, enthusiasm, persistence, and commitment.
- Motivated to succeed and make a positive impact, even in high-pressure environments.
- Capable of acquiring new skills and driving the role forward.
- Essential software knowledge: Sage 50, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:
- Educated to A-level standard or equivalent.
- Holds a recognised professional accounting qualification (ICAEW, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Previous experience in line management.
- Proficient in Arabic.
- Skilled in Microsoft Project and Visio.
