Job summary

Paul Card Recruitment Ltd in Middlesbrough is helping a family-owned manufacturing business recruit a Management Accountant who will own management accounting and reporting, working directly with the CFO.

You will drive monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations, undertake product costing, stock valuations and margin analysis, and deliver weekly financial and operational reporting while bringing outsourced activities in-house.

Qualifications

• Hands-on manufacturing accounting experience, including product costing.
• Strong double-entry bookkeeping knowledge and advanced Excel skills.
• ACCA/CIMA or AAT qualification (or part-qualified) with practical accounting experience.

You’ll work directly alongside the CFO as their key support within finance, taking ownership of management accounting and gaining exposure to wider financial and commercial decisions.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of key accounting and reporting activities, including:

• Monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Product costings, stock valuations and margin analysis.
• Weekly financial and operational reporting.
• Bringing outsourced accounting activities in-house.
• Improving financial systems and processes.

You’ll work closely with operational teams, understanding how production costs, materials and labour influence profitability.

About You

You’ll have hands-on manufacturing accounting experience, ideally including product costing, strong double-entry bookkeeping knowledge and advanced Excel skills.

You could be fully qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or AAT qualified with the practical accounting experience to back it up.
