1to1 Group have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious Management Accountant to join our client’s friendly team and leave their mark on their business.
This role is varied and will involve you implementing changes and improvements, leading on projects and ultimately changing the infrastructure of the business. It is fast-paced and dynamic and will offer exposure to all the various departments within the business.
The right person for this job should expect to progress to a senior finance role within 2-3 years.
Experience in the property development or construction industry would be desirable.
Responsibilities and Duties:
·To protect the company’s assets
·Assist the Deputy Financial Controller with the preparation of key weekly management reports
·Manage month end (to include but not limited to balance sheet reconciliations)
·Production of monthly information to assist the Deputy Financial Controller in the production of the management accounts and board papers
·Perform detailed investigations into key processes to ensure compliance with all Government legislation (to include but not limited to Tax and Data Protection)
·Monitor and report on key business processes to ensure good practice
·Systems “Champion”, able to solve departmental issues within the COINS ERP system
·Preparation of the monthly VAT Return
·Assist Deputy Financial Controller with the preparation of year end audit file
·Other ad hoc projects as required by the Deputy Financial Controller
·Carry out any other duties commensurate with the role.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
·Part-Qualified with any of the major accounting bodies
·It is vital that you are passionate about your role and willing to bring forward new ideas,
·You should be able to get on with people at all levels
·A good understanding of tax as it relates to construction (Construction Industry Scheme Tax, PAYE, VAT, End of Year re-turns, Construction Industry Training Board Returns)
·Advanced Excel skills
·Excellent general IT skills
·Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines through effective prioritisation of tasks
·The skills to take full responsibility for daily transactional queries
·The ability to design and implement effective new processes and controls
